NAS
(Network
Attached
Storage)
(Network
Attached Storage) Is
a hard
disk
storage
device
that
is set
up with
its own
network
address
rather
than
being
attached
directly
to
the
computer that
is serving.
The purpose
of a
NAS server
is
to
store
large
amounts
of data
over
a network
enabling
multiple
users
to share
the same
storage
space
simultaneously.
Clients can
then
all access
the
NAS
as another
drive
on the
network,
which
can
be
set-up
to have
different permission levels
and
access.
A
NAS
saves
data
in file format
rather than
block
format
as is the case
with
a SAN.
One
advantage
of a
NAS
is that
it is
capable
of storing
files
regardless
of operating
systems,
allowing
a network
consisting
of clients
using
a range
of
operating
systems
to
all store
data to
a
single
NAS
server.
Another
advantage
of
a
NAS
is that
overheads
are reduced
because
all
storage
is
centralised.
NAS
systems
can
be
built
up
to
24TB
of
storage
capacity.
All
of
our
NAS
systems
are
fully
customisable to
your
ideal specification.
