Based on the Intel Xeon E5 series Processor, the Intel R2312GZ4GCSAS is a Dual Processor server supporting up to 24 modules of DDR3 ECC RAM Modules - upto 744Gb of RAM.

The added benefit of hot-swap hard drives means that the Intel R2312GZ4GCSAS Rack Server can have any of its 12 hot-swap hard drives removed during maintenance whilst the system is running completely un-interrupted.

Boasting 12 SAS and SATA hard drives, the Intel R2312GZ4GCSAS Rack Server supports the latest Serial attached SCSI (SAS) and SATA storage technology. Superseding SCSI technology, SAS is a faster storage technology than SATA with its running speed of 6Gbit/s. Another major advantage of SAS is the fact that unlike SATA, SAS is bi-directional, allowing reading and writing simultaneously. SATA offers several advantages over the older parallel ATA (PATA) interface: reduced cable-bulk and cost, faster and more efficient data transfer, and depending on the system configuration, hot swapping.The Intel R2312GZ4GCSAS Rack Server supports 12x 3.5, 2.5" SATA hard drives, which represents the best cost per GB ratio storage technology.
