The Intel Atom processor was designed from the
ground up for low power and innovative devices, enabling a broad range of new
devices from Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs) to Dedicated Appliance Servers.
The next-generation Intel Atom processor for and entry-level tasks
continues to provide innovation through integrated graphics built directly into
the CPU using Intel® 45nm high-k metal gate technology, enabling smaller and
more energy efficient designs.
The X7SLA-L motherboard has a single-core Atom 230 processor that
runs at 1.6 GHz and that has 512 KB of L2 cache on the chip and a 533 MHz front
side bus. The board has two DDR2 memory slots and supports a maximum of 2 GB of
capacity and has four SATA disk ports and an on-board RAID 1/5/10 controller and
a Gigabit Ethernet port.
The higher-end X7SLA-H Atom-based motherboard drops in Intel's
dual-core Atom 330 processor, which also runs at 1.6 GHz and which sports 512 KB
of L2 cache per core and a 533 MHz front side bus. This more powerful Atom box
has two Gigabit Ethernet ports.
The CyberServe Atom-204F is a 2U rackmount server configurable with 0 Atom series range of processors. Built using the latest server technolgy, the CyberServe Atom-204F has 4x 2.5" SATA Fixed Drives and is ideal for those requiring a combination of high performance and density in their rack mount servers with its 2 SO Dimm DDR3 Non ECC memory banks. Based on technology, the CyberServe Atom-204F boasts Ultra Low Power, Extra Expansion Slots, Short Depth and Front I/O Ports as just a few of its core features.
The Intel Atom processor targets the server appliance markets where low power is of utmost importance. light processing or lean applications are perfect jobs for this energy efficient low cost processor range.
The CyberServe Atom-204F rackmount server with 4 fixed hard drives offers a cheaper alternative to servers with hot-swappable drives, bringing the total system cost down when hot-swappable hard drives are not required.
High Efficiency Servers. With data-center running costs constantly rising, it is becoming increasingly more important for rackmount servers to be low-powered and efficient. Broadberry use the latest power-efficient technology with all the components in the CyberServe Atom-204F, meaning it has been awarded the Broadberry 'Ultra Low Power' rating. Servers with extra expansion slots allow for future expandability or use in applications which require a large amount of PCI cards. Short Depth Servers can be less than half the length of standard servers, this allows them to be utilised in situations where space is at a premium, typically situations such as comms racks. The CyberServe Atom-204F boasts Front I/O ports allowing easy access to the servers USB, parallel and other I/O ports once installed in a rack. This is usually a very desirable feature if the server is going to be housed in a data-center or rack mount cabinet, where the back of the server will not be easily accessible. The most common benefit of front I/O ports is that USB keyboards and mice can be easily connected for maintenance of the server.
SATA offers several advantages over the older parallel ATA (PATA) interface: reduced cable-bulk and cost, faster and more efficient data transfer, and depending on the system configuration, hot swapping. The CyberServe Atom-204F supports 4x 2.5" SATA hard drives, which represents the best cost per GB ratio storage technology. Available up to 2TB, in both standard class and enterprise, SATA hard drives are the most popular storage technology we utilise in our rackmount server solutions. Originally designed and utilised in mobile applications such as laptops and notebooks, 2.5" hard drives are becoming ever increasingly used in servers due to their lower power consumption and space-saving characteristics.
