The CyberServe AM2-308S is a 3u rackmount server configurable with 2 Opteron 2000 series range of processors. Built using the latest server technolgy, the CyberServe AM2-308S has 8x 3.5" SAS and SATA Hot-Swap Drives and is ideal for those requiring a combination of high performance and density in their rack mount servers with its 16 DDR2 ECC Registered memory banks. Based on technology, the CyberServe AM2-308S boasts High RAM Capacity, Best Value, Extra Expansion Slots, Full Height/Length Expansion and Redundant Power Option as just a few of its core features.

The AMD Opteron 2000 CPU is available in 4 and 6 core configurations. AMD Opteron performs best for application that are memory bandwidth and latency intensive such as number crunching, media encoding, and also have the beneift of being very energy effifcient.

The added benefit of hot-swap hard drives means that the CyberServe AM2-308S can have any of its 8 hot-swap hard drives removed during maintenance whilst the system is running completely un-interrupted.

Our rackmount servers with a high RAM / memory capacity are purpose built for RAM intensive applications such as virtualisation. The CyberServe AM2-308S has been awarded the Broadberry 'Best Value' award. This is based on the system boasting very good all-round performance for its price. Servers with extra expansion slots allow for future expandability or use in applications which require a large amount of PCI cards. This machine caters for full-height / full length PCI cards. High availability servers mean minimal down-time for your mission critical applications.

Boasting 8 SAS and SATA hard drives, the CyberServe AM2-308S supports the latest Serial attached SCSI (SAS) and SATA storage technology. Superseding SCSI technology, SAS is a faster storage technology than SATA with its running speed of 6Gbit/s. Another major advantage of SAS is the fact that unlike SATA, SAS is bi-directional, allowing reading and writing simultaneously. SATA offers several advantages over the older parallel ATA (PATA) interface: reduced cable-bulk and cost, faster and more efficient data transfer, and depending on the system configuration, hot swapping.The CyberServe AM2-308S supports 8x 3.5" SATA hard drives, which represents the best cost per GB ratio storage technology. Available up to 2TB, in both standard class and enterprise, SATA hard drives are the most popular storage technology we utilise in our rackmount server solutions.
