Pedestal Servers Benefits :
Pedestal servers often also know as tower servers, are designed for the SMB (Small Medium Business) office, where a rack mount cabinet is not required.
Most smaller companies with less than 20 users may not have a rackmount cabinet for their IT equipment, so the best option is a pedestal server. This will stand firmly on the floor in the computer room or office.
Some of our pedestal servers have the option to mount them in a rackmount cabinet at a later date using the optional rackmount kit. The kit will allow the server to be turned horizontally and includes slide rails for the server to slide into a 19 inch server cabinet.
Pedestal servers can come in various depths, and have various expansion capabilities depending on the size of the pedestal server. As the Pedestal servers are usually just standing on the floor, exact sizes are not a major concern, as long as they fit under a desk. We do offer different sizes so  we can usually meet customers specific size requirements.
Most pedestal servers are designed to be whisper quiet and can be installed in an office environment. Some high-end servers still require more cooling so the fans can be noisy for an office environment. Redundant Power options tend to be noisier as the power supplies are smaller and have smaller fans running at higher speeds which create the noise.
If noise is a concern it is best to check with out sales department on the best configuration youre your needs, so we can help you chose the super quiet configurations, It is possible to have an almost silent server
Lockable Doors are also available for various models of our Pedestal servers. This can be used to stop unauthorised access to the Drive Bays, and also the On/Off switch and reset switch.
