The CyberServe AM1-316S is a 3u rackmount server configurable with 1 Opteron 1000 series range of processors. Built using the latest server technolgy, the CyberServe AM1-316S has 16x 3.5" SAS and SATA Hot-Swap Drives and is ideal for those requiring a combination of high performance and density in their rack mount servers with its 4 DDR2 Non ECC memory banks. Based on technology, the CyberServe AM1-316S boasts Extra Expansion Slots, Full Height/Length Expansion and Redundant Power Option as just a few of its core features.

The AMD Opteron 1000 series CPU is a single socket multi core processor. AMD Opteron 1000 series supports both 32-bit and 64-bit applications. The Opteron performs best for application that are memory bandwidth and latency intensive such as number crunching, media encoding, and serving files (storage server or web server).

The added benefit of hot-swap hard drives means that the CyberServe AM1-316S can have any of its 16 hot-swap hard drives removed during maintenance whilst the system is running completely un-interrupted.

Servers with extra expansion slots allow for future expandability or use in applications which require a large amount of PCI cards. This machine caters for full-height / full length PCI cards. High availability servers mean minimal down-time for your mission critical applications.

Boasting 16 SAS and SATA hard drives, the CyberServe AM1-316S supports the latest Serial attached SCSI (SAS) and SATA storage technology. Superseding SCSI technology, SAS is a faster storage technology than SATA with its running speed of 6Gbit/s. Another major advantage of SAS is the fact that unlike SATA, SAS is bi-directional, allowing reading and writing simultaneously. SATA offers several advantages over the older parallel ATA (PATA) interface: reduced cable-bulk and cost, faster and more efficient data transfer, and depending on the system configuration, hot swapping.The CyberServe AM1-316S supports 16x 3.5" SATA hard drives, which represents the best cost per GB ratio storage technology. Available up to 2TB, in both standard class and enterprise, SATA hard drives are the most popular storage technology we utilise in our rackmount server solutions.
